We’re excited to be a part of a panel session at the upcoming ISC West show in Las Vegas. And thrilled two SwiftData clients—Gary Rodman from Ripon College and Tara Steelman from College of St. Rose are also participating.
The education session—called Access Control Trends in the Education Sector—takes place on April 07, 2016 @ 10:00 AM. Check out the description below or click on the previous link for more info.
No campus is immune to threats of crime, violence or disruptions that can jeopardize safety and impede learning. Campus security directors must take into account a variety of issues while securing these educational institutions, including video surveillance networks, highly visible uniform patrol and access control – all of which must work seamlessly together to provide officials with the information they need to make informed decisions, act quickly in the event of an emergency and gather important intelligence for investigations. Today’s access control solutions specifically must meet a number of requirements to be installed or used on a university campus. They must be easy to deploy, user friendly, secure – especially during emergency situations and must combine information from a variety of disparate sources to function properly. This session explores trends in access control in an educational setting, how integration plays a key role and ways in which universities can utilize their access control systems in an emergency situation.
1. Review the trends present in today’s access control marketplace for the education sector.
2. Examine the considerations that campus security directors must take into account when deploying an access control solution that works well with other campus-wide systems.
3. Discuss ways that access control systems can aid in an emergency situation – both in specific locations and campus-wide.
